Our research projects tend to follow these steps:
- Survey design - We work closely with our clients to design a survey that is customized to their particular needs. Clients with branch networks or specialized sales forces typically survey their customers at the branch or individual level. The depth of information is invaluable to branch and sales managers when tailoring their action plans to reflect local requirements.
- Distribution - Survey packages are either mailed or emailed to relevant customer/employee groups. Survey packages typically include a covering letter or introductory email, a paper or electronic copy of the survey and a postage-paid return envelope (for return of the paper-based survey).
- Return - Completed surveys are returned directly to Corporate Insights for processing and analysis. The objectivity of an outside resource conducting the research increases the quality of each response and encourages a higher response rate.
- Presentation of Findings - We typically present a summary of our findings and recommendations in a PowerPoint presentation. The presentation format is an excellent way of getting the information into the hands of senior managers and generating constructive discussion of the results, ramifications and recommendations.
The presentation also provides an opportunity for us to discuss best practices that we have seen from our work with similar organizations. Many of issues facing a particular organization are often of concern elsewhere. Given the breadth of companies we work with, we are typically able to comment on how an organization performs relative to others. In many cases, we will have suggestions of tactics that have proven useful for capitalizing on the various opportunities uncovered in the research.
- Final Report - The Final Report contains both narrative and graphic information. The report provides clear and actionable recommendations and is intended for use by marketing, human resources and senior management. When the survey is conducted on a branch basis, each branch receives its own Branch Report showing its individual results from the survey with comparisons to the organization as a whole. Clients that don't have a remote sales force typically have the survey results reported at the divisional or functional level
